GCO-569 Dues Increase - 2/27/2012

I have recieved a letter from General Chairman AL Nowlin that on the General Committe dues will be increasing from $32.67 per month to $34.00 per month effective May 1 2012.

Election Results - 11/14/2011

The ballots were counted at the November regular meeting and CD Christianson defeated JM Golliher for Legislative Rep and

ED Dotson defeated RO Cory and JN Evans for Vice Local Chairman. A new list of officers will be posted as soon as possible.

Nomination results for Local Officers - 10/18/2011

On October 18 2011 UTU Local 1545 accepted Nominations for Local Officer's and Vice Local Chairman and the results were as follows. The ballots for Legislative Representative and Vice Local Chairman will be mail out approximately on October 27 2011. All positions that are unopposed will be elected by acclimation.

President- FH Bonner unopposed

Vice President- OC McMullen unopposed

Secretary/Treasurer- CD Christianson unopposed

3- trustees- ND Christianson, ED Dotson, and LD Williams all unopposed

Legislative Rep.- JM Golliher and CD Christianson

Alt Leg Rep- ND Christianson unopposed

Nomination meeting for Local Officer's - 9/23/2011

At our regular monthly meeting on October 18 2011 nomination's will be accepted for all Local Officer's, Legislative Representitive, Alt Legilative Rep, and Assistant Local Chairman. Nomination's may be made from the floor or by petition signed by 5 members in good standing.

UTU Local 1545 was chartered in Monroe, LA on August 1 1969. Local 1545 was formed when local c-499 and local t-222 were consolidated.

Local 1545 meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Monroe, la on Hwy 165 south..

We have a $20,000.00 for active empoyees and $2,000 for retired employees life insurance policy that is negotiated through collective bargaining with Met life and recently several employees have learned that their beneficiaries on the policy are not correct. Everyone needs to call the number below and check your beneficiaries to be sure to have the correct person listed. The number for the rail division of Met Life is 1-800-310-7770. Met Life will not give the information over the phone they will mail it to you.
